How much do I need to meditate to be mindful?
This question lies at a modern fallacy: How little can I do something to enjoy it’s benefits? We have become used to getting things for free and as a commodity.
Alas, mindfulness and meditation are inseparable. You have to meditate to be mindful. And, its not a superpower that comes with a purchase, in an app, or available without practice.
There are lots of meditation techniques that can help us become mindful. Zen. Walking meditation. Chanting. Mindful movement. Some yoga approaches. All these are pathways to being more mindful. But, none of them minus a deep practice *punches the mindfulness ticket."
To be mindful, we must practice. Not with a checkbox mentality. Perhaps its only when we quick looking at the clock or waiting for the timer to quit that we become truly mindful of our body and experience.
